Where is my Tequila?Clearly, I having some trouble moving beyond the erratic these days, so we are taking a little hiatus until I figure out what to do here.

I’m not saying I’m quitting. I’m just going to figure out what I really want this to be this time around.

Why This Blog Exists

Yup... that''s meThis is not a post where I’m going to debate in my own head whether or not to continue this so-called blog. It will continue, despite the fact that I seem to accentuating the erratic part of it these days. This is an accounting how this came about, how I have come to this point, and what may be coming in the future.

Few people know that what is here is the third incarnation of this blog. I wiped clean two previous attempts. The first attempt was about 10 months after I first met Scott. Like it or not, I have to admit that he had a lot to do with the failures of the first two, and the fact that this one lived on. (Warning: This is going to get long.)

Jumpstart

Those are some crazy nipple clamps!Once again, I’ve been absent way too long. It’s not that I don’t enjoy blogging… I’ve just had a lot going on.

First and foremost, I’ve been rowing with DC Strokes this summer. I LOVE it, but rowing two nights a week, plus Saturday mornings has required that I be more efficient at work (since I need to leave on time, and thus arrive on time and not piss my day away).

A death in the family, some time in P-Town, a pet project that may or may not appears on these pages plus other miscellaneous family obligations have distracted me for the past several weeks. But I’m renewing my commitment to bore the blogsphere with my ramblings… at least until the next shiny thing catches my glance.

Good news is that July and August have been relatively eventless in the automotive world, at least in the areas which I feel the need to comment on. It shouldn’t take long for me to catch up.

Rising from the Ashes

OK, not the Phoneix I'd prefer to be compared toI know that it looks like not much has been happening here, but actually I’ve been pretty busy.

In addition to finding a new(ish) job, and taking fabulous vacations, I’ve migrated my blog off of Blogger, onto my own server. There were many reasons, for instance:

  • Posts now are categorized by topics
  • A new seach bar is available
  • I can change content that was hard coded into my Blogger template is as easy as posting.

My inner IT geek is VERY excited about the fact I can add new features as I want. I’m nobody’s beeyatch except my own. This may be a bad thing, as finding the sweet spot in navigation, features and functionality for the initial version has taken me a while. And I’m probably not done.

For the most part everything was incredibly smooth… until I imported the old posts. Note to any of you using the automated import tool in WordPress: It hoses ALL your formatting, and you will have to reformat almost every post.

Finally, the URL has changed… it is now blog.autoerratic.com. I’ve remapped the old virtual driectory to the new, some of the old links may not work correctly.
